Born July 25, 1922, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Tom and Willie Taylor Clevenger, he was a U.S. veteran, having served in WWII, and a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ.
On Feb. 24, 1941, in Senath, he married Lucille Crawford, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Judy Parr, of Kennett; one brother, Bill Clevenger, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Michael Parr, of Memphis, Tenn., and Susan Pinkerton, of Hayti, Mo., and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Parr Abbott, of Hayti.
He was preceded in death by one brother, J.D. Clevenger and two sisters, Ora Lee and Mary Small.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby and Scott Williams officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Marlin Blansett, Murel Jones, Larry McDowell, Gaylon Mullins, Leonard Boggs and Charles Archer.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Bridges, Britt Burcham and Rick Gore.
Memorials may be made to the Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett.
