Genevieve F. Holligan, 85, of Festus, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Crystal City, Mo.
Born June 21, 1921 in Hollywood, Mo., daughter of the late Loyd Francis and Minta Amanda Jane Long Tucker, she was an Educator in the Missouri Public School System. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Festus/Crystal City, Business and Professional Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, Festus Library Board and Festus-Crystal City Garden Club.
She married Claude N. Holligan, who preceded her in death on May 23, 1999. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Carrol, Randall, George and Burnell Tucker and three sisters, June Lewis, Doris Tucker and Evadene Spain.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Freiner and husband, Mark, of Festus; three sons, Richard Hart and wife, Patricia and Michael "Mick" Hart, all of Festus and Larry "Mike" Holligan and wife, Mary, of Alexander, La.; one brother, Robert L. "Bob" Tucker and wife, Ruth, of Festus; a sister-in-law, Latrecia Boatner, of Senath, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Ricky, Kim, Kris, David, Toni, Michelle, Charlie, Preston and Eric and nine great-grandchildren, Tara, Brynden, Zachary, Elijah, Macey, Elsie, Eric Jr., Jackson and Parker.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, at the First United Methodist Church in Festus/Crystal City with the Rev. Frank Husted officiating.
Burial will follow in the Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery at Festus.
Memorials may be made to the Lulu Cemetery Association in Senath, Mo., or the First United Methodist Church.
