Mildred Imogene James, 96, of McAlester, Okla., formerly of Kennett, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007.
Born Feb. 27, 1910, in Kennett, daughter of the late William and Effie O'Bryant Rudder, she attended Kennett School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ.
On Feb. 27, 1930, in Kennett, she married Cad James, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Chaston, John, Elliott and Paul Rudder and three sisters, Fannie Fletcher, Lillian Bradford and Vanelle Adams.
Survivors include six children, Don James, of McAlester, Okla., Carolyn Moore and husband, Charles, of Frisco, Texas, Connie J. Wells, of McPherson, Kan., Beth Hawkins and husband, Ken, of Deltona, Fla., Rene Phares and husband, Kelly, of Norco, Calif., and Randy James and wife, Sue, of Ft. Worth, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Rebekah Briggin, James David, Ronald Scott and Contessa Ann Moore, Tracy Forsberg, Dori Corbin, Jon James, Charles Wesley Moore, II, Robb and Matthew Powell, D'Lonna Barrette, Heather Merryman, Holly Fox, Wyndi Gaskin and Joy Yoshizawa; 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19, at the Bishop Chapel of Memories with Red Coleman and Steve Lay officiating.
Burial was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Chuck, Ron and David Moore, Robb Powell, Jon James and son-in-law, Ken Hawkins.
Honorary pallbearers were the Elders of Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ.
Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester was in charge of arrangements.
