Floyd Earl "Bear" Wilson, 79, of Cooter, Mo., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, Ark.

Born Nov. 23, 1927, in Senath, Mo., son of the late Rev. B.R. and Ethel Emrey Wilson, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII, a elementary and high school superintendent and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Senath.

On March 4, 1950, he married Amy Young, who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow and Ira Wilson and one sister, Lois Johnson.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Morgan and husband, Tony, of Cooter, Mo.; one brother, Raymond Wilson, of Fredrecktown, Mo.; two grandchildren, Paige Morgan and Aimee Hatch, both of Cooter and two great-grandchildren, Preston and Morgan Hatch, both of Cooter.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with the Rev. Dave Lewelling and Lynn Butler officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Steve Childers, Thomas Raidt, Mike Whitmer, Mike and Joe Lynn and Todd Campbell.

Memorial may be made to the Freshman Class of 2010, Cooter School, Cooter, Mo.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
