Ruth George

Ruth Rean Beard George, 89, of Kennett, formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Born Aug. 21, 1917, in Newport, Ark., daughter of the late William and Anna Dollie Knott Roberts, she was a dietitian.

Survivors include three sons, Calvin Beard, of Lavinia, Tenn., Johnny Beard, of Valley Park, Mo., and Mike Beard, of Hornersville, Mo.; three daughters, Shirley Durlin, of Marble Hill, Mo., and Betty Crouch and Mary A. Riding, both of Hornersville; one sister, Eula Mae, of California, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Earl Beard; one daughter, Doris Beard; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home Chapel in Hornersville with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial was held in the Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.
