Born Aug. 2, 1918 in Dunklin County, Missouri, son of the late John Franklin and Hattie Burgess Williams, he was a World War II, Army veteran who received a Bronze Star. He was a retiree of McDonald Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of Grace United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alvena Williams of Paragould; two sons , Barry Sadler and wife, Shirley, of San Antonio, Texas, Freddy Hugh Williams and wife, of Moscow Mills, Mo.; one daughter, Brenda Jo Duty and husband, Roger, of Arbyrd, Mo.; three grandsons; two granddaughters and five great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one son, Rickey Williams; three brothers, Turner, Stanley and Alva D., and three sisters, Mattie, Stella and Nell.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Heath Colonial Chapel in Paragould with the Rev. Gerald C. James & Rev. Curtis W. Hitt officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Hollywood, Mo.
