James Burgess

James Leon Burgess, 68, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Jonesboro, Ark.

Born Jan. 24, 1939, son of Wilma Hodge Burgess Curtright and James Leland Burgess.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Burgess, of Cardwell, Tommy Burgess and wife, Jan, of Hornersville, Mo., and Mark Burgess and wife, Lori, of Arbyrd; three daughters, Sharon Morrison, of Phoenix, Ariz., Debbie Reed and husband, Allan, of Senath and Zana Burgess, of Arbyrd; his mother, Wilma Curtright, of Hornersville; special friend, Truly Magrum; four step-children, Billy, Tray, Michael and Amanda; two brothers, Joe Burgess, of Rector, Ark., and Jerry Burgess, Arbyrd; eight sisters, Patsy Erlanson, of North Carolina, Brenda Priest, of Arbyrd, Polly Lewis, of Aurora, Ill., Vera Mae Bishop, of Cardwell, Kathy Blankenship, of Mountain Home, Ark., Donna Burns, of Hornersville, Vickie Burgess, of Hardy, Ark., and Jo Ann Hollis, of Paragould, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother; one sister and one grandson, Daniel Lee Bibbs.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Leland Dement officiating.

Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Arbyrd was in charge of arrangements.
