Wanda Burke

Mayme Wanda Burke, 83, of Cardwell, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Cardwell.

Born Jan. 22, 1924, in Maynard, Ark., she was the daughter of the late John Burley and Mayme Ellen Hibbard Weatherford.

On May 9, 1941, she married Leonard Thomas Burke, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1980. She was also preceded in death by one son, Leonard T. Burke, Jr.; two daughters, Pamela Ann Burke and Brenda Kay Crowder; one brother, Bill Weatherford and three grandchildren.

Survivors include five sons, Benny Burke, of Fenton, Mo., Bill Burke, of Billings, Mont., Ronnie and Roger Burke, both of Kennett and Danny Burke, of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Sherry Letson, of Paragould, Ark.; two brothers, Junior Weatherford, of Bodfish, Calif., and Don Weatherford, of Pocahontas, Ark.; two sisters, Reva Brady, of Cartersville, Ga., and Ida Lou Johnson, of Hartselle, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Avon Raczkowski officiating.

Burial will follow in the Masonic at Pocahontas, Ark.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Greenway, Mike George, Ricky Letson, David Bishop and Dave Hunter.
