"Mama Jean" who was an avid baseball fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, was born July 28, 1922, in Cerro Gordo, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Hershel H. Parrott and Carrie Belle Coleman Parrott. She is survived by two children, Johnny Rhea Roberts and wife, Denise, of Sugar Land, Texas and Tona Diane Jones, of Kennett; twelve grandchildren, Nikki /Diane and Tom Ozell, of St. Charles, Mo., Paul Eric and Tena VanDeventer, of Kennett, Joel Curtis and Mindy Roberts, of St. Augustine, Fla., Lorrie Regina and Mike McElwrath, of White Oak, Mo., Kassandra Rhea Roberts, of San Diego, Calif., Sharon Christine and Michael McClure, of Midlothian, Texas, Jerid Eugene and Holly Maddox, of Kennett, Angela Denise and Trac Moody, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Jody Rhea and Stacey Mitchell, of Pascola, Mo., Dawn Marie and Jason Vacek, of Palacious, Texas and Cody Layne Stovall, of Sugar Land, Texas. Ten great-grandchildren, Steve and Shane McElwrath, Eric and Chad VanDeventer, Ian and Jordon Ozell, Hunter Sutton, Cayden and Caylee Mitchell and Cory Bella Roberts; two sisters, Johnnie Kate Hodge, of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Nina Sue Schaeffer, of Berkley, Mo. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one child, a daughter, Evelyn Darlene VanDeventer, of Kennett; a brother, Herschel H. Parrott, Jr., of Gideon and one sister, Evelyn Dee Calvin, of Beaver Falls, Pa.
Visitation will be held at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
