Sarah Ruby "Mom Thompson" Turnbo, 94, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at Hayti.

Born Sept. 16, 1912, in Savannah, Tenn., daughter of the late Walter and Mattie Bromley, she was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Tennessee and she attended the Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, John A. Thompson and wife, Arvetta, of Portageville, Mo., and Larry Joe Thompson and wife, Kathy, of Caruthersville, Mo.; five grandchildren, Ricky Thompson, of Kansas, Janet Smith, of Dexter, Mo., Patrick Thompson, of Portageville, Larry Allen Thompson, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Tina Thompson, of Mississippi; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Monty Bromley; three sisters, Wanette Hosea, Carnie Bromley and Alta Wallace and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 3, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Glyn Davis officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Ricky, Anthony and Patrick Thompson, Jeff Montgomery, Devan Ford and Larry Allen Thompson.
