Donald Eugene Markum, 71, of Piggott, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Northeast Arkansas Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Feb. 17, 1935, in Black Oak, Ark., son of Hubert Markum and the late Bonnie Merryman Markum, he was a sales rep and a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott.
On April 9, 1966, in Memphis, Tenn., he married Mary Martin, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Monty Markum, of Piggott; three daughters, Holly Searight and husband, Dicky, of Collierville, Mary Dawn Tichenor, of Hot Camp, Miss., and Martye Nelson and husband, Todd, of Jonesboro; his father, Hubert Markum, of Campbell, Mo.; one sister, Doris Jean Warren and husband, John, of Albuquerque, N.M., and six grandchildren, Whitney and Matthew Searight, of Collierville, Zachary and Amanda Tichenor, of San Antonio, Texas and Jordon and Katier Nelson, of Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Markum.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Book officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Charles, Dallas and Carl Pollard, Donald Benson, Mike Cook and Don Chastain.
Honorary pallbearers are Allan Morris, Jerry Williams, Matthew Vancil, Chris Bellers, Vance Turner, Danny Brown, Charlie Poole and Steven Long.
