Larry McDonald

Larry Lee McDonald, 68, of Georgetown, Ohio, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at his residence. Mr. McDonald was a retired manager for Sears and later worked for the Ethicon Endo Surgery Company in Blue Ash, Ohio. He was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church and had served as a Gideon at the First Baptist Church in Pekin, Ill., the Severance Valley Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., and the Central Baptist Church in Maysville, Ky. He attended Cape Girardeau College and served in the Army National Guard. Mr. McDonald was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Hayti, Mo., the son of the late Deward Edward and Mary Virginia Cannon McDonald. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy McDonald.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Brenda Hedrick McDonald; one son, Charles Scott McDonald, of Chicago, Ill.; one daughter, Carey Lynn Babka and husband, Tom, of Toledo, Ohio; his step-mother, Katie McDonald, of Kennett; stepchildren, Tim Hayslip and wife, Rowena, of Georgetown, Brad Hayslip and wife, Vera, of Goshen, Ohio and Holly Wilson, of Georgetown; friends, Jerry Wilson, of Georgetown and Kevin Daniels, of Chicago, Ill.; five step-grandchildren, Brittany Hayslip, of Cincinnati, Corey Hayslip and wife, Ashton, of Anchorage, Alaska, Logan Hayslip, of Georgetown and Austin and Madigan Hayslip, both of Goshen, Ohio, and cousins, Shirley Faulkner and husband, Brooks and Missy Zalenski and children, Brooke and Zachary, all of Smyrna, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Confidence Cemetery at Georgetown. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Boulevard, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154or to the Georgetown United Methodist Church, 217 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.
