David Dewayne Pendergass, 31, of Steele, Mo., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Steele.

Born Jan. 10, 1976, in Hayti, Mo., son of Floyd "Knuck" Pendergrass and Dixie Fletcher Forsythe, he attended school at Caruthersville and was employed at M&M Construction in Blytheville, Ark.

Survivors include four children, Keith Pendergrass, of Kennett and Andrew, Carson and Austin Pendergrass, all of Jonesboro, Ark.; his father, Floyd "Knuck" Pendergrass and wife, Janet, of Caruthersville; his mother, Dixie Forsythe and husband, Troy, of Steele; two sisters, Laura Dickey, of Steele and Debra White and husband, Jerry, of Newbern,Tenn.; one step-sister, Savannah Forsythe, of Hickman, Ark.; two step-brothers, Stephen Forsythe, of Hickman and Jeffery Forsythe, of Tyler, Mo., and his grandparents, Albert and Delphine Pendergrass and Helen Smith, all of Caruthersville.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey Lynn Pendergrass and one sister, Derinda Pendergrass.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Brandon Swindle, Chris and David Phelps, Kenny Garrett, Koby Reynolds and Brandon Irions.
