Reverend Elmer Eugene Dennis, son of Louise Imogene Tennison Dennis and the late Elmer Zeno Dennis, was born Feb. 15, 1952, in Kennett and departed this life on Jan. 17, 2007, at the age of 54 years, 11 months and two days.
Eugene married Mary Ann Moody on Dec. 21, 1971, in Memphis, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Dennis, of Harviell, Mo.; two sons, Steve Dennis and wife, Tonya, of Harviell, Mo., and Jeff Dennis and wife, Christina, of Harviell, Mo.; daughters, Christy Abrams and husband, Josh, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and "Heart Adopted" daughter, Misty Morris, of Harviell, Mo.; grandchildren, Mitchell Dennis, Braden Dennis and Zack Dennis, all of Harviell, Mo., Jillian "Jill Jill" Dennis, of Kennett, and "Heart Adopted" Mykayleigh Morris, of Harviell, Mo.; his mother, Imogene Dennis, of Lenoir City, Tenn.; one brother, Jerry Dennis, of Horn Lake, Miss.; one sister, Judy Harvey, of Lenoir City, Tenn., and other relatives and many friends.
Eugene was preceded in death by one son, Tim Dennis, and his father, Elmer Zeno Dennis.
Eugene was of the Pentecostal faith.
Eugene was owner/operator of Dennis's Neighborhood Grocery while in Kennett and Dennis Stop and Shop in Neelyville, Mo.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Thursday, Jan. 18.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Dennis, Billy Dennis, Johnny Dennis, Kenny Davis, Josh Abrams and Don Mitchell.
