Mary Frances Gaskins Armer, 64, of New Madrid, Mo., formerly of Pemiscot County, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born Aug. 23, 1942, in Ingram Ridge Community in Pemiscot County, daughter of the late William Sherman "Bud" and Gertie Bell Self Gaskins, she was a member of the First General Baptist Church in New Madrid.
On April 7, 1958, in Hayti, Mo., she married Charles A. Armer, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2001. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy and Troy "Scrap" Gaskins and three sisters, Louise Printy, Ellen Petty and Mildred VanVickle.
Survivors include three children, Charlene Hammock and husband, Jon and Gene Armer, all of New Madrid and Gail Risner and husband, Benjamin, of Sikeston; twin brother, Muriel Gaskins and wife, Judy, of Portageville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Crystal Hale and Codie Starkey, both of Sikeston, Jay Hammock, of Lilbourn, Mo., Sarah Hammock, of Houston, Texas, Amanda Higgs and Curby Easterwood, both of St. Louis, Mo., Salena Starkey, of Tennessee and Megan and Shawn White and Allie and Kaitlyn "K.K." Armer, all of Charter Oak, Mo., and 13 great-grandchildren, Jacob Hale and Selena Arteaga and Pedro Arteaga, Jr., all of Sikeston, Alyssa and Payton Hammock, both of Lilbourn, James Sickal, of Houston, Rose, Bell, Joey and Paige Higgs, all of St. Louis and Shawn and Ashton Standfield and Canaan Castil, all of Tennessee.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. William Henry and Kevin Baker officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Tim Massey, Robert Lewis, Hank Hill, Joe Gorman and Randy and Randall Franks.
Honorary pallbearer was Brian Gaskins.
