Zella Victoria Hill, 85, of Gideon, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the Gideon Care Center.

Born Nov. 24, 1921, in Marion, Ill., daughter of the late Jerry and Cora Howard Book, she was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Gideon.

On Aug. 15, 1939, she married Jesse Hill, who preceded her in death on June 9, 1977. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Phillip, Sonny and Buck Hill; one daughter, Charlotte Black; three brothers, Pete, Dickie and Roscoe Book; six sisters, Laverne Book, Stella Truett, Irene Foreman, Effie Freeman, Cleo Cossey and Nancy Russell and two grandchildren, James and Steven Hill.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Hill, of Gideon, Mo.; two sons, Howard "Shorty" Hill, of Campbell, Mo., and Jerry Hill, of Gideon; one sister, Gertie Rodier, of Malden, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Gideon with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.

Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
