Dessie Mae Neeley, 88, of St. Francis, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.
Born June 17, 1918, in Truman, Ark., daughter of the late Jefferson and Grace Thomas Ham Hoots, she was a homemaker and a member of the Gravel Hill General Baptist Church in St. Francis.
On Oct. 1, 1933, in Clay County, Ark., she married Herman Curtis Neeley, who preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1978. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Hoots and one brother, Dean Hoots.
Survivors include two sons, Gillis Neeley and wife, Peggy, of St. Francis and Jimmy Neeley and wife, Peggy, of Cedar Hill, Texas; two daughters, Melba Pinkston and husband, Clyde and Patsy Gatlin and husband, Cledis, all of St. Louis County, Mo.; one sister, Joyce Sweeten, of St. Louis County; three brothers, Earl Ham, of Northern Michigan, Larry Hoots, of Norfolk, Va., and L.C. Hoots, of Pekin, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Tony and Greg Neeley, Sharon Mann, Vicki White, Ricky Pinkston, Kim Schweiss, Kara Koch, Father Jeffrey Gatlin and Christy Carrol and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell, Mo., with Bro. Ted Winberry officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
