Charles Collie "Coach" Miller, 97, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born in Ada, Ark., son of James Madison and Rose Etta Hale Miller, he was a teacher, farmer, and was retired from Brewer Brothers Midway service station in Cardwell. He was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

In 1933, he married Bonnie Marie Holcomb, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, G.C. and Odell Miller and two sisters, Jewell Bennett and Connie Havener.

Survivors include three sons, Joe A. Miller, of Jonesboro, Jerry L. Miller, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glenn D. Miller, of Spokane, Wash.; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Brown, of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Novella Yates, of Sikeston, Mo., and Odessa Jones, of Morley, Mo.; one brother, Ferrell Miller, of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, in the Cardwell Cemetery at Cardwell, Mo.
