Born Feb. 22, 1941, in Frisbee, Mo., son of the late Tona and Ruth Johnson, he attended Osborn General Baptist Church, and was a member of the Lions Club and was a Selective Service Board Member. He was a driver for Emerson Transportation and formerly owned and operated Qulin Discount Furniture.
On July 24, 1961, in Warterloo, Ill., he married Linda Diamond, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Rita Eaton and husband, Raymond, of Williamsville, Mo., and Cheryl Johnson-Carter and husband, James, of Qulin; one brother, Myron Johnson and wife, Polly, of Van Buren, Mo.; two sisters, Joyce Green, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Barbara Pronk, of Little Rock, Ark., and four grandchildren, Brandy Eaton and Jamie and Felicia Carter, all of Qulin and Jordan Eaton, of Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilda and Doranda Johnson and Lyndell Riddle and one brother, Marion Johnson.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., today, Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at the White-Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Book officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sumach Cemetery at Holcomb, Mo.
