Jessie C. Wimp, 75, of Caruthersville, Mo., formerly of Rives, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at the Caruthersville Nursing Center.
Born April 11, 1931, in Holland, Mo., daughter of John Thomas and Rosie White Scott, she was a homemaker, a cook for Appletree Preschool in Steele, Mo., and a member of the Oak Grow Church of Christ.
She married Abe Wimp, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jake, Wendy and Homer Scott and two sisters, Ruby Thompson and Lessie Erwin.
Survivors include one son, Jackie Wimp and wife, Denise, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one daughter, Rebecca Bailey and husband, Gary, of Holland; two brothers, Bobby Clifford Scott, of Grassy, Mo., and James Monroe Scott, of St. Louis, Mo. and four grandchildren, Amanda Garrett Bailey, of Jonesboro, Ark., Kelsey Ann Bailey, of Holland, Nicholas Allen Wimp, of Cape Girardeau and Josh Bailey, of Gosnell, Ark.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Kenneth G. Murphy, financial responsibility, sentencing Church of Christ near Holland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Samford Church of Christ with Tim Howard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark., is in charge of arrangements.
