Mildred Blackburn

Mildred I. Blackburn, 87, of Kennett, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Canterbury Assisted Living in Dyersburg, Tenn.

Born April 13, 1919, in Malden, Mo., daughter of the late George W. and Lula Glass Blackburn, she was a graduate of Kennett High School and served as Captain for the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps during WWII. She was employed at Ford Motor Company.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Edith Legan, Florence Shumway, Leona Boyer, Helen Eskew and Edna Kellum and two brothers, Bertis and G. Leonard Blackburn.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Memorials may be made to the charities for animals of your choice.
