Betty Cross, 76, of Bernie, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at Golden Living Center at Malden.

Born Dec. 18, 1930 at Fisk, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Alva Rowley and Julia Ann Allen. She was a retired office clerk for Ozark Border Electric Cooperative and was of the Baptist faith.

On Aug. 6, 1949, she was married to Wayne Cross at Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2000.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, C.L. Rowley, and one sister, Verba Romines.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Smith and husband, Ron, of Clarkton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Renee Willett and husband, Eric, of Holcomb, Mo. and Darren Smith and wife, Sara, of Clarkton; three great-grandchildren, Dusty Willett and Sadie Willett of Holcomb, and Allison Smith of Clarkton.

Visitation will be from noon until 1:45 p.m., today, Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at the Landess Funeral Home at Malden.

The funeral service will be at 1:45 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at the Landess Funeral Home, at Malden with the Rev. O.H. Brooks officiating.

Burial will follow at the Shain Memorial Park at Ash Hill, Mo.
