Beatrice O. Land, 94, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital at Hayti.
Born June 14, 1912 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Martin C. and Mona Stephens Dawson. She was retired from General Motors as the AC spark plug division inspector, was a volunteer at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital for 18 years, and was a member of the Hayti Church of Christ.
She married Curtis Land who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jackie Ray Land, two brothers, Bill and Raymond Dawson, one sister, Bernice Dawson, two sister in-laws, Viola and Georgia Dawson, and one brother in-law, T.V. Cross.
Survivors include two sons, Troy Morgan Land, and wife, Virginia, of Princeston, Ind., and Curtis DeWayne Land, and wife, Lucille, of Bradenton, Fla., one daughter in-law, Joyce Land, of Waterford, Mich., six grandchildren, Leslie Raleigh, Lisa Land, Kelley Land, Marty Land, Susan Land and Kent Land, 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Myrl Cross of Hayti, and three brothers, Edsel Dawson, and wife Essie, of Hayti, Bob Dawson, and wife, Anna Beth, of Iowa Park, Texas, and Neal Dawson and wife, Wanda of Olive Branch, Miss.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel at Hayti with Jeff Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Kelley Land, Jeff Thomas, Mike Watkins, Paul Sheckell, Terry Cross and Bobby Irions.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of services.
