Frieda Burk Farrell, 88, of Dallas, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Dallas.
Born Dec. 26, 1917, in Arbyrd, Mo., daughter of the late Edith and Joe Burk, she was a member of the Southwest Writers Group and the Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John and wife, Sue, of Houston, Texas and Bob and wife, Jayne, of Nashville; one daughter, Kay Wilkinson and husband, Ross, of Las Colinas; two sisters, Mary Branum, of Hornersville, Mo., and Betty Maxwell, of Cardwell, Mo.; six grandchildren, John and Greg Thrailkill, Kevin and Dawn Farrell, Liz Hilcher and Rachel Goldstein and eight great-grandchildren, Isaac Murphy, Kahlill, Judah and Zade Goldstein, Logan and Madison Hilcher, Ellen Thrailkill and Eleanor Farrell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall D. Farrell.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, the first of December at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas.
