Born March 19, 1932, in Elsinore, Mo., son of the late Robert Alman and Margaret Melviney Boyer Gooch, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Beheimer, of Florida, Melviney Hardcastle and husband, Johnny, of Villa Ridge, Mo., and Shirley Rudd and husband, David, of Gideon, Mo.; one son, Robert Gooch, of Gideon; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Gooch; three brothers, Cecil, Coy and Albert Gooch; two sisters, Pauline Bizzell and Elizabeth Lench; one grandson, John Gooch and two great-grandchildren, Aaron Akins and Christopher Rudd.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home chapel in Gideon with the Rev. Bronk Adams officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
