Arthur L. Duncan, 73, of Gideon, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at his residence at Gideon.
Born March 18, 1931, at Paragould, Ark., he was the son of the late Rufus L. and Ruth Young Duncan. He was a farmer, businessman and a member of the First Baptist Church at Risco, Mo.
On June 18, 1948, he married Juanita Knapp Duncan, who survives. Other survivors include one son, Michael Duncan and wife, Donna, of Eminence, Ky.; one daughter, Carolyn Aden and husband, Tim, of Malden, Mo.; grandchildren, Christy and Jason Hicks of Malden, Mo., and Laura and David Pepon of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Claire, Emma, and Duncan Hicks; two brothers, Raymond Duncan of Camdenton, Mo., and Herman Duncan of Lebanon, Mo.; two sisters, Joyce Duncan of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Naomi Snider of Imperial, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George Duncan; and one sister, Beatrice Snider.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at the Landess Funeral Home at Malden.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at the First Baptist Church at Risco, with Michael Duncan and the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow at the Elder Cemetery at Campbell, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church at Risco, Stokeland Drive Christian Church, 1501 Stokeland Drive, Malden, or Eminence Baptist Church, P.O. Box 134, Eminence, Ky., 40019.
The Landess Funeral Home at Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
