Goldie Louella Thompson, 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at the Miner Nursing Center at Sikeston, Mo.
Born on Jan. 22, 1925, at Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late David and Josephine Abernathy Lincoln.
On March 18, 1949, she married Joe Thompson at Piggott, Ark., who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Douglas Thompson, three brothers, Joel Lincoln, Elzie Lincoln, and William Lincoln; three sisters, Bertha Lucchetti, Lincoln, and Elsie Vaughn Gilmore.
Survivors include one son, Denny Cain and wife, Claudia, of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Cathy Bateman and husband, Keith, of Sikeston, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Pam Thompson of Senath, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Crump of Fisk, Mo., and Bernita Davenport of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; six grandchildren, Ronnie Cain, Christy Bentley, Latasha Hauptman, Joe Don Thompson, Ryan Bateman, and Aaron Bateman; and one great-grandchild, Trenton Thompson.
The funeral service was held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at the McDaniel Funeral Chapel at Senath, Mo., with the Rev. Doug Clinton and the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating.
Burial followed at the Memorial Gardens at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Joe Don Thompson, Joel Jones, Ryan Bateman, Jeremy Hauptman, Gary Lynn Newman, and Aaron Bateman.
