Earnestine Babcock Tillman, 84, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems hospital at Hayti.
Born Jan. 7, 1922, at Lanes Ferry, Obion County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Ira Earnest and Minnie Ola Cagle Cooper, she was a sales clerk and member of the Church of Christ at Hayti.
On Nov. 2, 1940, she married Franklin Babcock who preceded her in death June 25, 1976. On Nov. 27, 1981, she married Howard Tillman who preceded her in death Feb. 23, 2000.
Survivors include three children, James Babcock and wife, Wanda, of Smyrna, Tenn., Earnie Babcock and Vickie Turnage and husband, Randy, all of Hayti; three stepchildren, Sam Tillman and wife Nadine of Marble Hill, Mo., George Tillman and wife, Linda, of Greers Ferry, Ark., and Randy Tillman and wife, Carol, of Hayti., two stepdaughters-in-law, Shirley Tillman and Angela Tillman of Memphis, Tenn., one sister Margaret Wakefield and husband, John Artie, of Newbern, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Lamar, Roy and James Cooper; two sisters, Gwendolin Cooper and Imogene Clift and two step sons, Charles and Eddie Tillman.
Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at the Church of Christ in Hayti with Jeff Thomas and Dr. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were John Wakefield, Denny Cooper, Adam Babcock, Leon Babcock, Kevin Babcock and Richie Babcock.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of services.
