Barbara Doherty

Barbara Jane DeRousse Doherty, 60, of the Buckeye, Ark., died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at her residence.

Born Nov. 16, 1946, in Hornersville, Mo., daughter of the late Tom and Opal Shipley DeRousse, she was a homemaker and a registered nurse and a member of the New Providence Baptist Church in Buckeye.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Doherty of Buckeye; four sons, Kenny Brown and wife, Joli, of Lawrenceville, Ga., Casey Doherty and wife, Trisa, of Krum, Texas and Paul Doherty and wife, Michelle and Shannon Doherty, all of Aubrey, Texas; one brother, Larry DeRousse, of Cummings, Ga.; six sisters, Ruby Prince and Patricia Fortson, both of Hornersville, Louise Branham, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Lavonda Hill and Virginia Smith, both of Manila, Ark., and Rosalee Metheny, of Blytheville, Ark.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Shawn Brown.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at the New Providence Baptist Church in Buckeye with the Rev. Danny Smith officiating.

Burial was in the Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector, Ark.

Memorials may be made to the New Providence Baptist Church, 5900 N. State Hwy. 119, Leachville, Ar. 72438.

Faith Funeral Service in Manila was in charge of arrangements.
