Wilma Louise Purdy, 83, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

Born Sept. 2, 1923, in Peach Orchard, Ark., daughter of the late Johnnie Leonard and Rosetta Sowders Lindsey, she was a homemaker and a member of the Hayti Church of Christ.

On Aug. 18, 1940, in Stokes, Ark., she married Carmen Purdy, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1990. She was also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Ray Purdy; two brothers and two grandsons.

Survivors include three sons, Leonard Purdy and wife, Kristina, of Alburnett, Iowa, Charles Purdy and wife, Joyce, of Tecumseh, Okla., and Eugene Purdy and wife, Regina, of Dawson, Ala.; one daughter, Deloris Turner and husband, Gene, of Hayti; one brother, Lavon Lindsey, of Imperial, Mo.; two sisters, Loral Lindsey Curtis, of Peach Orchard, Ark., and Oma Lindsey Mustain, of Benicia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at the Hayti Church of Christ with Kevin Lawrence officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
