Azell Mildred Clemons Cross, 97, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at the Malden Nursing Center.

Born July 18, 1909, in Mt. Vernon, Ark., daughter of the late Otis and Mat Holling Clemons, she was a homemaker and worked at the cleaners. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Malden.

On April 11, 1943, in Malden, she married John Cross, who preceded her in death in 1957. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Cleo Clemons and one sister, Betty Smith.

Survivors include three nephews, Cleo, Otis and Sandy Clemons and eight nieces, Mary and Lisa Clemons, Cindy and Azell Davis, Lou Johnson, Cheryl and Pat Barber and Renae Porter.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor Williams and Pastor Cleveland Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden.

Landess Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of arrangements.
