Dr. E.A. Shaneyfelt, 77, of Manila, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born in Leachville, Ark., son of the late Eugene Lloyd and Pauline Edwards Shaneyfelt, he was a 1947 graduate of Osceola High School and was a graduate of Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas. He was a physician and a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Bell Shaneyfelt, of Manila; one son, Gene Shaneyfelt, of Pinckneyville, Ill.; four daughters, Paula Spencer, of Austin, Texas, Genebeth "Bug" Shaneyfelt, of Manila, Cindy Holiman, of Jonesboro and Shing Hall, of Cave City, Ark.; one brother, Dr. James L. Shaneyfelt, of Kennett; one sister, Barbara Satterfield, of Little Rock; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Dec. 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Manila .
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, at the First United Methodist Church in Manila with the Rev. Craig Russell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Shaneyfelt Medical Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Heritage Bank in Manila.
