Opal Thurman

Opal Nadine Thurman, 84, of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 2, at Kennett.

Born Nov. 4, 1922, in Holcomb, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Eli J. and Gertrude Cooper Moore.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy Stockton and Teddy Thurman, both of Holcomb; one daughter, Carol Carpenter, of Rector, Ark.; one brother, James Moore, of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Imogene Blanton, of Holcomb; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Stockton and three brothers, Richard, Elmer and Rolland Moore.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Kyle Thurman, Shannon Rickman, Gary Moore, Tommy Stockton, Scott Daugherty, and Chuck Carnett.
