Effie Leon Foster, 83, of Gideon, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at the Gideon Care Center.

Born March 24, 1923, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late Elmer and Ivy Gilbrith Burnett, he was of the Baptist faith.

On Aug. 15, 1944, she married Otis Eugene Brown, who preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Earl Foster on Dec. 21, 1972, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1992. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Paul Ray and Ricky Brown; two daughters, Patsy Brown and Alice Maddox and two brothers, Ray and Odell Stoker.

Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Nall and husband, Frank, of Clarkton, Mo.; three sons, Thomas Brown and wife, Pam, of Canadian, Okla., Wayne Brown and wife, Ernestine, of Lake Placid, Ill., and Jerry Brown and wife, Shelby, of Gideon; three sisters, Margretta Throgmorton, of Bloomfield, Mo., and Dorothy Blunt and Betty Taylor, both of Dexter, Mo.; one brother, Thomas Stoker, of Newport, Ark.; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.

Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
