Effie Leon Foster, 83, of Gideon, Mo., formerly of Clarkton, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at the Gideon Care Center at Gideon.
Born March 29, 1923, at Bernie, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ivy Gilbrith Burnett. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
On Aug. 15, 1944, she married Otis Eugene Brown, who preceded her in death in 1965. On Dec. 21, 1972, she married Earl Foster, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Paul Ray Brown and Ricky Brown; two daughters, Patsy Brown and Alice Maddox; two brothers, Ray Stoker and Odell Stoker.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Nall and husband, Frank, of Clarkton; three sons, Thomas Brown and wife, Pam, of Canadian, Okla., Wayne Brown and wife, Ernestine, of Lake Placid, Ill., and Jerry Brown and wife, Shelby, of Gideon, Mo.; three sisters Margretta Throgmorton, of Bloomfield, Mo., Dorothy Blunt, of Dexter, Mo., and Betty Taylor, of Dexter; one brother, Thomas Stoker, of Newport, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17, 2006, at the Bradshaw Chapel at Malden, Mo.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at the Bradshaw Chapel at Malden, with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
