Born July 13, 1919, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Alice Hastings Branum, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett.
He married Juanita Pepple, who preceded him in death. He later married Betty Averett, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Gary Branum and wife, Becky, of New Madrid, Mo.; two step-daughters, Randi Markham, of Sikeston, Mo., and Teresa Owen, of Bonne Terre, Mo.; two daughters-in-law, Janice Branum and Joan Deschamp; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Eugene and Jimmy Dale Branum; one daughter Joy Lynn Wrenfrow; two sisters, Beryl Holmes and Nellie Hanners and five brothers, Lee, Charley, Milt, Willie and Chester Branum.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Ed Jansson and Ted Wimberley officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Ron, Scott and Steve Branum, Dave Hanners, Larry Griggs and Dale Lynn.
Honorary pallbearers were Dan Crawford, Troy Rebstock, Kevin Casey, Maurice Wallace, Charlie Arthur, Charles Crawford, Joe Rose, C.M. Smith, Kenneth Henson, Robert Cook, Roger Montgomery, Henry Deeter, Max Averett, Jerry Averett, Carol Moore, Bud Seeney and Calvin Holt.
