Willie Miles

Willie B. Miles, 78, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at her residence.

Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Tutwiler, Miss., daughter of the late Willie and Selena Gaston Smith, she was a nurse at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

In 1943, in Lula, Miss., she married William H. Ford, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Latrena K. Ford and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, William H. Ford, Sr., and Deborah Miles, both of Hayti and Bobbie Connor and husband, Bennie, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hayti.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Butler officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers are William Ford, Sr., Ronald Ford, William Ford, Jr., Christopher Miles, Craig Pearson and Ernest Pogue.

Honorary pallbearers are Chazmon Brooks-Ford, Edjron Pearson, R.D. Walker, Jr., Craig Pearson, Jr., Willie Strong and Garon Trawick, Jr.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Hayti is in charge of arrangements.
