Sandra Rae McEwen, 57, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Feb. 27, 1949, at Micola, Mo., whe was the daughter of the late Warren G. and Gladys Faye Jones Battles. She was nursing home activity director, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.

On Dec. 29, 1983, she married James Denis McEwen at Caruthersville, Mo.

Other survivors include two daughters, Shona McMillen and husband, Sonny, of Portageville, Mo., and Gigi Bauer of Hayti; six grandchildren, Trey McMillen, Ashlea Glidewell, Deven McMillen, and Alexis Glidewell all of Portageville, Dustin Bauer of Hayti, and Tommy Huckleba of Hayti; six sisters, Debbie Kaliff of Lancaster, Calif., Kimmy Houston of Cerritos, Calif., Teresa Armstrong of Paragould, Ark., Tammy Travis of Cooter, Mo., Mary Lewis of Caruthersville, Mo., and Veva Henson of Paragould, Ark.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at the Church of Christ at Hayti with Mr. Jeff Thomas officiating.

Burial followed at the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Kris Mendoza, Dustin Bauer, Tony Pacheco, Kevin Cobb, Deven McMillen, and Jeremy Armstrong.
