Vonedia Abernathy

Vonedia Abernathy, 91, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Born April 20, 1915, in Newark, Ark., she was the daughter of George H. and Effie Shownes Rawlings.

On May 4, 1935, in Kennett, she married Woodrow Wilson Abernathy, who preceded her in death on April 8, 1992.

Survivors include one son, Bill Abernathy and wife, Judy, of Kennett; one daughter, Dixie Ann Abernathy, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., today, Friday, Nov. 10, in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
