William "Bill" Austin, 81, of St. Louis, formerly of Paragould, Ark., died Oct. 4, 2006, at his residence in St. Louis.

Born Aug. 5, 1025, he was the son of the late William and Nancy Wheeler Austin.

On Sept. 26, 1947, he married the late Martha Cupp at Senath, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Orbie, Cecil, and Virgil Austin; and one sister, Clora Shepard.

Survivors include one son, Jackie Austin and wife, Pamela, of St. Louis; one daughter, Judy Mayhall and husband, Theron, of St. Louis; one brother, Glen Austin, of St. Louis; one sister, Nora Griffin, of Paragould, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at the McDaniel Chapel at Senath with the Rev. Denny Brown officiating.

Burial followed at the McGrew Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Jackie Austin, Billy Mayhall, William Austin, Mike Austin, DWayne Cupp, and Tommy Gens.
