Lula West

Lula Mae West, 93, of Blytheville, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born Dec. 16, 1912, in Cass County, Ill., daughter of the late Francis N. and Nancy Parson Guise, she attended Hayti School and was a member of the Pascola Baptist Church.

On June 20, 1935, in Kennett, she married James Horner West, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1966.

Survivors include five children, Irene Girten, of Blytheville, Ewing West, of Mesa, Ariz., Bertie Crider, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Leonard West, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Bernice Bryant, of Washington and over 70 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating.

Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Family members served as pallbearers.
