Evans Develt Tillman, 77, of Sikeston, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 28, 1928, in Bellefontaine, Miss., he was the son of the late James Lee and Janie Richards Tillman.
On Oct. 11, 1954, in Hernando, Miss., he married Orangie Nell Drain, who survives.
Survivors also include six sons, J.L. Tillman and wife, Cynthia, of Parma, Mo., Calvin Tillman and wife, Earlene, of Steele, Mo., Nathaniel Tillman, of Sikeston; Tommie Tillman and wife, Teri, of Montgomery, Ala., and Evans Tillman, Jr., and wife, Suzanne and Mark Tillman, both of Columbia, Mo.; nine daughters, Ethel Mae Harlston, Diane Tillman and Erlene Cullors, all of California, Orangie Green and husband, Isaac, of New Madrid, Mo., Joyce Givens and husband, Danny, Kerrie Stuart and husband, Junior and Zena Holmes and husband, James, all of Columbia, Shirley Jones and husband, Willie, of Lilbourn, Mo., and Karen Robert and husband, Robert, of Converse, Texas; two brothers, Fred Tillman, of Rantoul, Ill., and Johnnie Tillman, of Champaign, Ill; one sister, Magnolia Jamerson, of Urbana, Ill.; 46 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Tillman; four sisters, Ethel Tillman, Susie Rutledge, Arletha Gladney and Alberta Gladney and one brother, S.T. Tillman.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden with the Revs. Tommie Tillman and Earl Grissom officiating.
