Mary Mildred Brown, 89, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Risco, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.
Born April 3, 1917, in Cooter, Mo., daughter of the late Burl and Ethel Funderburk Castman, she was a member of the Church of Christ in Malden and the Risco Rural Independent Club.
On Jan. 8, 1935, she married Russell Gaston Brown, who preceded her in death on April of 1987. She was also preceded in death by one son, Russell Brown; one brother, Calbert Castman and three sisters, Iona Mallory, Marie Terry and Lorena Woodard.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Smith and husband, Ed, of Austin, Texas; one son, Jim Brown and wife, Beverly, of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons, Edward Smith, of Montgomery, Ala., and Steve Smith, of Carbondale, Ill., and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Friday, Sept. 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Bill Lovelace officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, Mo.
