Born June 19, 1952, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Jessie E. and Martha L. Bell Halford, he was a graduate of Sikeston High School, a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a diesel mechanic.
On Dec. 27, 1980, in Parma, Mo., he married Nancy Ann Stevens, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Scott Sherman Halford, of Mountain Grove, Mo.; his step-mother, Orena Halford, of Sikeston, Mo., one granddaughter, Ashlyn River Halford; three aunts and one uncle.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Glass Memorial Baptist Church in Hayti with the Revs. Don Tims, Jr., and Doug Wahls officiating.
Burial was in the Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn, Mo.
Pallbearers were Zack Stevens, Trey Mitchell, Scott and Tommy Halford, Mike McKey, Phillip and Dewayne Shelly and John McCrate.
Honorary pallbearers were Neal Peters, Mathew "Scat" Turner, Jr., Rodney Baugher and Danny Mills.
John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
