Born Nov. 17, 1950, in Kennett, son of the late Samuel Edgar and Lena Leora Evans Skelton, he was a 1968 graduate of Senath Hornersville High School.
On Oct. 19, 1990, in Piggott, Ark., he married Desha Clayton, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Mike Skelton and wife, Jamie, of Paragould, Ark., and Mack Skelton and wife, Casey, of Caruthersville, Mo.; two step-daughters, Tammy Jackson, of Greenway, Ark., and Tina Wheatley, of Kennett; one step-son, Donnie Lowman, of Dexter, Mo.; two brothers, Pat Skelton and wife, Sheila, and Metz Skelton and wife, Rowena, all of Kennett; one sister, Thelma Harris and husband, Ronel Paul Harris, of Kennett; one grandson, Tyler Skelton; seven step-grandchildren and special friends, George and Jessica Rollins and Teddy and Vernell Deck.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Lulu Cemetery in Senath, Mo., with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
