Carolyn Diane Barker Watts, 64, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Born March 27, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of James Edward and Evelyn Idell Hinton Barker, she was employed with the Hayti School District, Lincoln University and was a FEMA caseworker. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
On Feb. 26, 1960, she married Robert Samuel Watts, Sr., who survives.
Survivors also include seven children, Robert Jr., and wife, Ruby, and Kevin, all of Chicago, Ill., Cynthia, of St. Louis, Evelyn, Renee and Michelle, all of Jonesboro, Ark., and Reaver Carter and husband, Jeff, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Elaine Kane and husband, Sherman, of Chicago and Laverne Jordan and husband, Elbert, of Caruthersville; two brothers, James Barker, Jr., and Franklin Barker and wife, Idella, all of Chicago; a foster daughter, Denise Martin; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Pentecostal Power New Life Deliverance Temple in Caruthersville with Bishop James L. Lane officiating.
Burial was in the Morgan Ridge Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were James Jr., and Franklin Barker, Kevin Watts, Jr., Omar Kane, Robert Watts III, and Elbert Jr., and Maurice Jordan.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
