Tommie West, 71, of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Feb. 6, 1935, in Mississippi, son of the late Floyd and Idella West, he was an automobile mechanic.
In 1990, he married Alice Lattimore, who survives.
Survivors also include seven children, Tommy West and wife, Tasha, of Memphis, Tenn., Arthur West, of Battle Creek, Mich., Charles Johnson, of Florida, Verna Wells and husband, Elic, of Hayti, Martha Luster, of Alabama, Yolanda Randal, of Parkview, Mo., and Natalie Giles, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; nine step-children, Princess Calvin and husband, Wiley, Susie Liddell and husband, Ricky, JoAnn Borders and husband, Donald, Andrew, Jackie and Larry Lattimore, Lenora Covington and husband, David and Valarie House and husband, Paul, all of Hayti and Jonathan Lattimore and wife, Tammy, of Kennett; one sister, Idella Halley and husband, Broner, of Ohio; 31 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Courtney Sanders, Sr. and Pastor Bishop B.A. Armour officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Douglas, Llwellyn and Carl Luster, Jonathan Lattimore, Donald Borders and Paul House.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy West, Jr., Arthur West, Charles Johnson and Jamison Feltus.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
