Betty Calhoun, 82, of Deering, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Feb. 9, 1924, in Lilbourn, Mo., daughter of the late W.M. and Roberta Lane Greene, she was secretary for Deering Seed and Fertilizer, a member of the United Methodist Church in Deering, where she served as secretary and treasurer and a member of the Eastern Star.
On Oct. 31, 1941, in Blytheville, Ark., she married J.F. "Bud" Calhoun, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Fred Calhoun; two brothers, John and Glynn Greene and one sister, Evelyn Atwill.
Survivors include one son, John Calhoun, of Deering; a daughter-in-law, Paula Calhoun, of Kennett; two brothers, Don Greene, of Fort Washington, Md., and Lynn Greene, of Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandchildren, Alesia Gammill and Melissa Deniston, both of Jonesboro, Ark., and three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Erin Gammill and Nicholas Deniston, all of Jonesboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Deering United Methodist Church with the Revs. Sue Cubbage and Webb Manley officiating.
Burial was in the Mound Park Cemetery at Lilbourn.
Pallbearers were Delane Streeter, Marcus Streeter, Stacy Greene, Casey Greene, Dick Atwill and Richard Atwill.
