J.L. Bickerstaff, 80, of Kennett, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at his residence.

Born Sept. 30, 1925, in Clarendon, Ark., son of the late John Leonard and Willie Ann Morgan Bickerstaff, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett.

On Feb. 9, 1974, he married Dorothy Horner, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Kerry Bickerstaff and wife, Paula, of Kennett; two daughters, Sherry Paules and husband, Butch, of Grapevine, Texas and Pam Kingston and husband, Ron, of Euless, Texas; one brother, Harold Bickerstaff, of Jasper, Ala.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Culbreath and Jean Miley.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Kennett.
