Clyde Julian Boyd, 77, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born May 25, 1929, in Caruthersville, son of the late Henry Clyde and Golden Onie Cockrell Boyd, he attended Caruthersville school and the University of Missouri Columbia and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville. He was a farmer, served on the Caruthersville School board, the hospital board and the Missouri Baptist Convention board.
On March 20, 1955, in Caruthersville, he married Marilyn Mehrle, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Jeff Boyd, of Ames, Iowa, David Boyd, of Portageville, Mo., and Doug Boyd, of Campbellsburg, Ky.; one daughter, Julie Paschall, of Gainesville, Ga.; one brother, Jerry Boyd, of Lake Jackson, Texas; one sister, Judy Kay Boyd, of Braggadocio, Mo., and nine grandchildren, Leah Beth, Andy, Jenna, Amy, Laura, Josh, Sarah, Juliana and Lily.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 27, at the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Doug Boyd officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were James A. DeReign, Frank Morgan, Bill Inman, Douglas Fitzwater, Wayne Brantley, Charlie Jones, Earl Bullington and Keith Jean. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the church.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
